ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, seeks an Entry Level Traveling Safety Supervisor for a full-time, first assignment on a data center project in Independence, MO. The role will travel to subsequent projects nationwide, leading on-site safety efforts and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure compliance with safety plans.

The position requires a 3.0+ GPA, a BS in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, and a 100% travel commitment.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• BS in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field.
• Ability and willingness to travel 100% with weekend home time.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels.
• Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage on-site safety efforts on complex or large-scale projects with superintendents, PMs, subcontractors, and client reps.
• Develop and ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans.
• Track and assess project safety metrics and recommend improvements.
• Conduct safety inspections and issue corrective actions as needed.
• Lead site orientations and manage worker orientation records.
• Lead safety portions of preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Attend subcontractor coordination meetings and prepare safety content.
• Conduct site-wide safety standdowns, toolbox talks, and document attendance.
• Collect and manage subcontractor safety documentation such as safety plans and training certificates.
• Collaborate on incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a highly motivated Entry Level Traveling Safety Supervisor, who is passionate about the construction process. This position is for a full-time traveling assignment supporting large-scale construction projects such as: Heavy Commercial/Commercial Industrial, Advanced Technology, Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/manufacturing, Renewables, and Infrastructure projects.

The first assignment would be on a data center in Independence, MO. Once that finishes, the Supervisor will travel to the next project anywhere across the country.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Lead and manage on-site safety efforts on complex or large-scale projects, working closely with project superintendents, project managers, multiple subcontractors, and client reps.
• Develop and ensure compliance with site specific safety plan.
• Track and assess project safety metrics for recommended improvements.
• Safety Inspections – perform regular safety inspections and review project team’s safety inspections. Recommend corrective actions and issue safety violations as necessary.
• Orientations – Develop site specific safety orientation to be administered with global safety video. Manage all new worker orientations and recordkeeping.
• Preconstruction meetings – Lead safety portion of preconstruction meetings with subcontractors. Review site specific safety requirements and discuss scope specific hazards and mitigation plans.
• Subcontractor Coordination meetings - Attend and prepare relevant site-specific safety content for weekly subcontractor coordination meeting.
• Perform site-wide safety standdowns, toolbox talks, and small group discussions and log meeting minutes and attendees.
• Collect and manage required subcontractor safety documentation (safety plans, fall protection plans, Weekly TBTs, pre-tasks, training certificates, etc.)
• Incident Investigations – Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure that all incidents are formally investigated and that subcontractors identify root cause, contributing factors, and corrective actions.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• BS in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field.
• Ability and willingness travel 100%. You will be home every other weekend.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with workers at all levels.
• Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
