Job summary

Stellantis Financial Services seeks a Development & Validation Engineer for Automatic Transmission, Driveline and/or Gear Reducers to design, develop and validate components and systems. You will collaborate with transmission hardware, software, calibration and engine teams, and lead test execution to meet durability and functional goals.

The role requires a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, internship-level experience in AT/Driveline/Reducer design or controls, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experience design, development, calibration or controls for Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Gear Reducer is expected (via internship).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate components and systems for Automatic Transmission, Driveline and/or Gear Reducers.
  • Lead test planning, test cell setup and debug activities; manage test schedules and bill-of-materials development.
  • Perform root cause analysis of test stoppages and drive corrective actions; prepare test article inspections and reports after each test.
  • Initiate root cause analysis and solution development when failures are identified.

Job description

The Development & Validation Engineer for Automatic Transmission, Driveline and/or Gear Reducers is responsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems and will work closely with other engineer groups interacting with the transmission, including - but not limited to – transmission & Driveline hardware, software, calibration, thermal management, engine engineering organizations. The D&V Test Engineer is also responsible for test execution to ensure functional objectives and durability goals are met. This includes, test planning, Bill-of-material development, test cell setup and debug, test schedule development, root cause analysis of test stoppages throughout the test and finally to lead the test article inspection and report following the end of each test. The engineer will initiate root cause analysis and solution development process in the case of test failures are identified.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Gear Reducer design, development, calibration or controls via internship
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and have a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master Degree in Engineering
