Job summary

Younger Auto Group is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles, discuss repairs with supervisors, and provide accurate labor estimates. You will coordinate with the service team to plan work, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.

The role offers ongoing training, a fast-paced environment, and opportunities for advancement within a premier auto group. A strong work ethic and dependable performance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate manual transmissions.
• Familiarity with automotive repair/maintenance tasks.
• Solid work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor.
• Provide labor estimates and relay service requests.
• Plan work with shop foreman.
• Monitor repair time and update service advisor.
• Maintain dealership policies on vehicle care.
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
• Attend training and stay updated with factory bulletins.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.

Automotive Technician

What you bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• Although equivalent education/experience will be considered, ideally you have 1 to 3 months of relevant experience and/or training
• Valid Operator Driver’s License

The Requirements:

• The capability to read/comprehend written instructions and information
• Familiarity with all aspects of automotive repair/maintenance
• A valid driver’s license and be able to operate manual transmissions
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• The capacity to stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds
• Work in the seated position for long periods while operating controls with arms and legs.
• The capability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

What you’ll be doing:

• Examine and diagnose vehicles
• Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor
• Provide labor estimates and communicate additional service requests to the Service Advisor
• Plan work in cooperation with shop foreman
• Monitor repair time and update service advisor
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees
• Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)
