SafeSplash + SwimLabs Waukee is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach students of all ages, promote water safety, and create a positive learning environment. The role emphasizes developing lesson plans, monitoring progress, and communicating with families to ensure safe, enjoyable lessons.

Ideal candidates have lifeguard experience and a background in sports coaching or teaching. This position offers a part-time schedule with opportunities for advancement within a fitness-focused team.

Qualifications

• Previous lifeguard certification is highly desirable.
• Background in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or experience with students is preferred.
• Familiarity with kids' sports such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, or martial arts can be beneficial.
• Ability to speak confidently and clearly with both children and adults.
• A strong understanding of childcare principles is an asset.
• Previous work in health clubs or gyms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups, adapting instruction to meet the needs of each student.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that follow the proven SafeSplash curriculum.
• Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and maintaining a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Collaborate with other instructors to create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices in swim instruction and safety.

Duties

Experience
