Job summary

Accenture is seeking a labor standards and process-improvement specialist to support client engagements in engineering and operations. You will observe processes, develop standards, and help teams implement enhanced work methods across sites.

Your role includes documenting methods, defining elements, and coaching associates in time- study practices, with significant travel to client locations and on-site collaboration with leaders.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience or exposure to labor standards and process improvement is preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with client managers to observe processes and develop labor standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve methods, safety, and efficiency.
  • Lead training and adoption of improved processes with client teams.
  • Document methods, define elements, and support time-study templates.

Asupply chain and operations professional witha strong foundationin industrialengineering and process optimization. You bring hands-on experience, or a drive to build it, in labor standards development, lean process improvement, and performance management.

You are developing your ability to connect operational processes to measurable business outcomes for clients. You are comfortable contributing to project workstreams under the guidance of your leaders and are motivated to deepen both your technical and consulting skills.You are curious, coachable, and excited to grow in a client‑facing consulting environment.

The Work
Engineering
  • Partner with client managers and associates toobserveand learn processes for labor standard development, applying disciplines includingLean, Six Sigma, human factors and ergonomics, workstation design, queuing theory,andfacility andprocessdesign.
  • Use observations toidentifyopportunities to improve job methods, safety, oraccuracy,and to remove wasted effort from operational processes.
  • Partner with the client to prioritize, implement, and train associates on improved processes.
  • Complete the labor standard development process, including:
    • Documenting preferred methods
    • Defining and writing elements
    • Creating and testing UMT time study templates
    • Educating and calibrating the time study team
    • Collecting, entering, and analyzing time study data
    • Identifyingand tracking production tasks
    • Finalizing personal and fatigue allowances
Training & Communication
  • Educate associates related to their successful participation in a Performance Management program, covering:
    • Time and production tracking
    • Calculating performance and incentive
    • How standards are developed
    • How to be successfulon-standard
    • Mentoring
  • Conduct associate brainstorming and training sessions effectively and clearly.
Client Relationship
  • RepresentAccentureprofessionally in all consultant/client relationships.
  • Engage in on-siteclientfacing relationships with various levels in the organization, from associates to operations leaders, including executive leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering or Business Management, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, or significant equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skillsAvailable to travel 80-90% of the time
  • Available to work weekends, as needed by project schedules
  • 1-3 years in consulting experience
  • Experience with LEAN Six Sigma process improvement principles and practices
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Additionalapplicable software skills including Auto Cad, Microsoft Access, and Excel VBA coding

Fluency in at least one foreign language a plus, Spanish preferred
