Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Structural (Bridge) Engineer for our Fairfax, VA office. The role involves designing bridges and civil structures, with focus on steel and concrete construction, using AutoCAD and/or Microstation.

You'll work with a team to produce bridge elements, conduct load ratings, develop rebar quantities, review shop drawings, and assist with bridge safety inspections. Ideal for new graduates with FE exam pursued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD and/or Microstation and a desire to work in a team environment.
• FE exam completion preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

The candidate will design bridges and a variety of civil structures (primarily of steel and concrete construction) using applicable software. The candidate will be responsible for designing steel and concrete bridge elements, performing bridge load ratings, developing reinforcing bar lists and quantities, reviewing shop drawings and assisting with bridge safety inspections.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $82,500 - $85,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
