Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I (Entry-Level) to perform basic decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments under close supervision. This entry point role is designed for individuals new to the field, providing foundational knowledge in sterile processing.

The position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with CRCST/CBSPD certification to be earned within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certification (CRCST or CBSPD) must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Completion of an accredited Central Sterile Processing course preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and defects.
• Assemble and wrap instrument sets according to count sheets.
• Load/unload sterilizers and maintain accurate sterilization records.
• Follow departmental protocols, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
