Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Sterile Processing/Technologist Technician to perform decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments under supervision. The role supports OR teams and maintains infection control standards.

The ideal candidate will have a CRCST/CSPDT certification or equivalent, with 2 years of sterile processing or surgical technology experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant program completion.

Qualifications

• Certification from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
• 2 years of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist experience including relevant school curriculum
• High school diploma or equivalent and program graduation or clinical experience in a related field

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization, and distribution of trays/sets, equipment, and supplies under supervision
• Participates in distribution of operating room supplies and trays/sets
• Maintains cross-contamination prevention by following dress codes and policies
• Acts as department resource and preceptor for new staff, and provides in-services for staff
