Job summary

AEP is seeking an entry-level engineer to perform engineering activities under supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner. You will support higher-level engineers, coordinate routine tasks, and assist in planning with cost estimates and scheduling basics.

The role emphasizes communication of results, teamwork, and adherence to standards. A Bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited) is required; FE exam encouragement is preferred for future PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination encouraged and preferred.
• Professional Engineer license pursued after licensure is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering theory to solve well-defined problems under supervision.
• Assist higher-level engineers on routine tasks and analyses.
• Coordinate work activities of others to resolve routine tasks.
• Prepare scheduling inputs and cost estimates for routine projects.
• Communicate findings through reports and technical documents.
