Job summary

Tighe & Bond is hiring an Entry Level Staff Engineer for the Site Civil Design Team in Worcester, MA. You will assist with site planning, design, permitting, and coordination on Northeast infrastructure projects.

We expect a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, EIT or FE plan, and internships in related fields. The role offers a hybrid work setup, competitive pay, and benefits including health, dental, and tuition support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• FE Exam passed and EIT certification, or plan to by June 2027.
• Internship experience in surveying, engineering, permitting, or construction observation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role working on site planning and design, problem-solving, and permitting assignments.
• Draft figures, details, and plans.
• Complete field work in support of design and construction projects.
• Prepare design calculations and opinions of probable construction cost.
• Prepare technical specifications, memorandum, reports, and project correspondence.
• Understand design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide construction phase services including, construction observation, review shop drawings and submittals, and create record plans.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a valuable part of ourSite Civil Design Team, anEntry Level Staff Engineerwill support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with responsibilities such as:

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Passed your FE Exam and obtained your EIT certification, or planning to by June 2027
• Relevant experience through internships in surveying, engineering, permitting, or construction observation
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eagerness to learn, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or HydroCAD
• Understanding of hydraulic/hydrological studies and stormwater modeling
