Schnabel Engineering's Longmont, CO office is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Engineer to join our growing geotechnical team. You will develop both field and analytical skills, contribute to dam and water infrastructure projects, and collaborate with a strong, multidisciplinary group.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, is eager to learn, can travel for field assignments, and is proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles and models to real-world problems as part of a team under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures and inspect dams and hydraulic works.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.

We are looking for a motivated candidate with an interest in developing both field and analytical skills, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assistin the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineersin accordance withinternal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations andwritetechnical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.

Required Skills/Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineeringor related field
• Proficiencywith AutoCAD Civil3D
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience

The compensation range for this position is between$62,400to $86,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
