Entry Level Staff Accountant - Summer 2024

Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate with client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
  2. Establish and maintain effective client relationships through regular communications, including on-site visits
  3. Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines
  4. Develop technical aptitude and provide assistance to clients
  5. Participate in continuing professional education programs
  6. Serve as a trusted business advisor for clients and associates
  7. Proactively identify improvement opportunities in processes to enhance efficiency. Recognize potential issues and/or opportunities in engagements and discuss with engagement head
  8. Use data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns to provide support in recommendations

Tax Specific:

  1. Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections in accordance with firm and professional standards
  2. Understand and effectively use current tax and accounting software applications
  3. Research tax related issues and other related financial reports
  4. Perform a limited number of tax return interviews as needed

Audit Specific:

  1. Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards
  2. Communicate with engagement managers regarding open items, testing problems, or other important matters
  3. Prepare (or review client prepared) financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs
  4. Develop technical expertise with GAAP and accounting procedures, related to assigned product line

Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  2. Above average knowledge in accounting as demonstrated by college GPA; Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher
  3. CPA eligibility preferred
  4. Requires 0 - 24 months of job related experience
  5. An accounting internship experience preferred
  6. Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data
  7. Proven written and verbal communication skills
  8. Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, etc.
  9. Experience with accounting software is a plus
  10. High level of organization, focus, exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
