Job summary

CFS in North Tampa Area is seeking a Staff Accountant as an entry-level opportunity for recent accounting graduates and early-career professionals. You will engage in general ledger activities, month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting, collaborating with leadership to support operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Accounting internship experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and support month-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable while gaining exposure to the full cycle.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting and analysis.
• Prepare audit schedules and support internal/external audits.
• Participate in process improvements and special projects.
