Job summary

YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team and support daily financial operations. In this entry-level role, you will process transactions, maintain ledgers, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.

You will gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment that strengthens our community through youth development and healthy living. A strong eye for detail and eagerness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred or in progress.
• Internship or coursework in accounting is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger records and proper coding/documentation.
• Assist month-end/year-end closing; prepare schedules and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and rolling 12-month forecast updates.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting data.
