Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Specimen Technician I in New York, NY to support specimen processing and lab operations on weekdays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for overtime based on staffing needs.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented with strong organization skills. HS diploma required with no experience needed; production or medical environment experience is a plus. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $25.60 per hour, with comprehensive benefits available for FT roles.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Previous experience in a production or medical environment preferred.
• Flexibility with night shifts; weekends/holidays/on-call may be required.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of test orders, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
• Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens.
• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.
• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
• Identify problems with specimens and resolve missing information when possible.
