Job summary

CalHR is seeking a Social Worker I - CPS in California to perform basic social services casework and referrals under close supervision. The role focuses on learning methods, policies, and procedures while handling a limited caseload and advancing toward independent practice over time.

Responsibilities include client interviews, case documentation, coordination with community resources, and adherence to NASW ethics.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• If not, thirty college semester units including social welfare courses must be completed.
• One year of full-time experience providing direct client services or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality and work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts interviews with clients and family members to assess basic social, physical, and mental needs.
• Performs case studies and evaluates information to assess safety and determine appropriate treatment.
• Develops and carries out non-complex to moderate treatment plans for assigned caseload.
• Refers clients to staff or community resources for direct and intensive services as needed.
