Entry Level Service Technician

We are part of the Landmark Automotive Group of dealerships in Springfield, IL since 1975. We pride ourselves on delivering quality service with a commitment to customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking an experienced and certified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and certified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles. As an Automotive Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them, aiming to maximize reliability and functionality. An excellent technician is well-versed in complex mechanical or electronic systems of vehicles and has excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
Diagnose issues and determine the best course of action.
Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance services.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify issues.
Collaborate with the service team to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
Proven experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
Current manufacturers designated certification a big plus.
Strong understanding of automotive technology and the latest diagnostic equipment.
Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
Good communication skills and customer service oriented.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical stamina and strength for handling heavy parts and tools.
