Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking an Entry Level Scientist to join our Glastonbury, CT team. You will contribute to soil, water, air, and sediment sampling across diverse environmental projects, with mentorship and opportunities for career growth.

The role emphasizes safety, data analysis, and collaboration with senior staff on Phase I due diligence, wetland delineation, and permit projects. A BS in a related field and 0–2 years of field experience are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 0-2 years of environmental field sampling and data collection.
• Ability to multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record of safe work practices.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Collect soil, water, air, stormwater and/or sediment samples utilizing different sampling techniques.
• Assist with due diligence (ASTM Phase I) projects.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
• Assist with wetland delineation and natural resource permitting projects.

• Work directly with staff and management-level team members with field and reporting responsibilities.

Our Northeast Division is seeking a dynamic Entry Level Scientist to join our Glastonbury, CT office. You'll be joining a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment

Your Responsibilities as a Scientist 1 - Staff Scientist:

• Collect soil, water, air, stormwater and/or sediment samples utilizing different sampling techniques.
• Assist with due diligence (ASTM Phase I) projects.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
• Assist with wetland delineation and natural resource permitting projects.
• Actively develop your own career growth with opportunities to assist with field and reporting tasks.
• Work directly with staff and management-level team members with field and reporting responsibilities.

What we're looking for:

• BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field.
• 0-2years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection.
• The ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportationare required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Annual Expected Pay Range

$50,000 — $60,000 USD
