Job summary

American Electric Power in New Albany, OH is seeking an entry-level Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG6 to support SCADA, RTU and alarm configurations with supervision. The role involves applying engineering theory to resolve issues, reading drawings, and assisting with compliance while growing leadership and project forecasting skills.

The position targets new graduates with ABET-accredited degrees; FE exam encouraged and PE licensure path supported.

Qualifications

New graduates with ABET-accredited engineering degree are eligible for entry-level SG6
FE exam encouraged for future PE licensure
Engineering technology degree holders may meet requirements with PE license
Non-ABET degrees may be supplemented by master's/PhD from ABET program
VP or higher can waive degree requirements from non-ABET programs

Responsibilities

Identify issues in processes/tools and propose solutions
Complete RPA and RTU configurations with limited supervision
Set alarms and I/O configurations for greenfield and brownfield projects
Assist higher-level team with SCADA compliance items
Read drawings/schematics used in Electrical Engineering
Coordinate team work and provide training/guidance; forecast costs for routine projects
