Job summary

VisionNav Robotics seeks an Entry-Level Robotics Test Engineer in Detroit, MI for on-site stability and functional testing of AGVs. You will support post-delivery testing, troubleshoot on-site issues, and analyze field logs using MATLAB to drive improvements.

The role requires a hands-on, collaborative approach and a willingness to travel between project sites as needed, with bilingual English/Mandarin proficiency considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on or project experience in robotics-related field.
• Basic coding skills in one or more programming languages (C++ and Python strongly preferred).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in hands-on environment.
• Basic MATLAB knowledge or experience.
• Ability to travel to client project locations as needed.
• Willingness to work at alternative sites during training periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stability and functional testing on AGVs and related components before delivery to ensure reliable performance.
• Support application testing after delivery based on customer site conditions and operational needs.
• Identify, report, and track technical issues found during testing and field deployment; collaborate on troubleshooting and resolution.
• Collect AGV diagnostic logs from on-site operations and perform data analysis using MATLAB to identify root causes and improve performance.
• Adjust inverter driver parameters and optimize testing methods based on feedback.
• Document findings to support continuous quality improvement of product reliability.
• Troubleshoot on-site issues and coordinate with researchers to enhance testing methods and standards.
