Tetra Tech is seeking an entry-level to early-career Roadway Design Engineer, EIT, based in Brighton, Michigan. The role supports planning and design of roadway and transportation infrastructure while collaborating with experienced engineers and specialists.

The position involves design tasks, modeling, and field coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions, with a mix of office work and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Entry-level to up to five years of relevant transportation or roadway design experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of highway, arterial, and local roadway improvements.
• Develop roadway geometry, signing, pavement marking, traffic signal, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Prepare roadway 3D models using applicable design software.
• Develop quantity calculations and engineer’s cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to support data collection and the design process.
• Prepare alternative evaluation studies, technical memoranda, and similar reports.
• Collaborate with project teams and technical specialists to support project delivery.
