Job summary

Renewable Careers Limited in San Francisco is seeking an Entry-Level Renewable Energy Engineer (I/II/III) to join our growing team. You will work across the project pipeline, supporting engineering for new developments and asset performance with ownership early on, backed by senior engineers.

Hybrid work from our San Francisco office is offered along with a structured development path, mentorship, and exposure to full project lifecycles across solar, wind and BESS technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil, renewable energy or related).
• Interest in clean energy and decarbonized grid transition.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with data and spreadsheets.
• Clear written and verbal communication; can simplify technical topics.
• Initiative, curiosity and quick learner; ownership mindset.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects.
• Run energy production estimates and site assessments.
• Support interconnection applications and coordination with utilities.
• Review deliverables from EPCs, consultants and suppliers.
• Assist construction and commissioning, including site visits nationwide.
• Analyze performance data and recommend improvements.
• Help build scalable internal tools and standards.

Entry-Level Renewable Energy Engineer (I)/II/III

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000, depending on experience

We are a renewable energy company that develops, builds, owns and operates clean energy projects across the United States. Our portfolio spans utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS), and because we hold our assets for the long term, our engineers see projects through from first site studies to decades of operation. Our San Francisco team is growing, and we are looking for an early-career engineer ready to build a career in the energy transition.

What you will do

You will work across our project pipeline, supporting the engineering behind new developments and the performance of operating assets. Expect real ownership early, with experienced engineers around you to learn from. Your work will include:

• Supporting engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects from feasibility through construction
• Running energy production estimates, site assessments and technical due diligence
• Supporting interconnection applications and coordination with utilities and grid operators
• Reviewing deliverables from EPC contractors, consultants and equipment suppliers
• Supporting construction and commissioning, including site visits to projects across the country
• Analyzing performance data from operating assets and recommending improvements
• Helping build the internal tools and standards that scale with our portfolio

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in engineering: electrical, mechanical, civil, renewable energy or a related field
• A demonstrated interest in clean energy and the transition to a decarbonized grid
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to make technical topics simple
• Initiative and curiosity: you take ownership, ask good questions and learn quickly
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Internship, co-op or research experience in energy is a plus, not a requirement. We hire for aptitude and attitude, and we invest in developing our people.
