Overview

We1re seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Entry-Level Medical Data Specialist to support our medical records and data management operations. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, organizing, validating, and maintaining healthcare-related data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and usability. This is a fully remote position with flexible hours and room for growth.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collect, review, and input medical data from various sources (EHRs, clinical reports, patient records)

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data according to HIPAA and internal compliance standards

  • Work with internal teams to identify and resolve discrepancies or data gaps

  • Maintain documentation and data tracking logs

  • Assist with data audits and quality assurance processes

  • Support data migration and integration projects as needed

  • Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical team members


Requirements


  • Associate A0 0s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field

  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, healthcare data types, and HIPAA compliance

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Comfortable working with electronic health records (EHR) systems or databases

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)


  • Familiarity with tools like Epic, Cerner, or other EHR platforms

  • Previous internship or coursework involving medical data or informatics

  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
