Electric Power Systems in Raleigh, NC is hiring an entry-level Relay Technician I to assist in installing, testing, and maintaining protective relay systems in substations and industrial settings. You will learn relay protection theory, testing methods, and schematics under supervision.

You will support installation, perform basic tests, and help build test plans while documenting work and following safety procedures in energized environments. This role offers growth and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology, or Military experience preferred.
• NETA certification is a plus.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, wiring, and commissioning of protection and control systems.
• Perform entry-level testing under supervision from Senior Relay Technicians and Engineers.
• Develop safety-conscious habits and follow PPE procedures.
• Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Document testing activities and maintain reports of work performed.
• Support senior technicians and engineers in testing plans and verification activities.
• Maintain tools and test equipment in safe/organized condition.
