Recreational Vehicle Technician - we'll train you!

AC Nelsen RV is growing, and we're searching for additional RV Technicians/Mechanics to join us! If you are technically or mechanically inclined, this is the job for you. This person will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service on recreational vehicles (RV's). The RV Technician / Mechanic would earn an hourly pay rate, PLUS an unlimited billable hour/commission!

We are looking for someone responsible and dedicated. The RV Technician / Mechanic must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently once trained. Hours will vary between 8 am-5 pm, Tuesday-Saturday, or Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

This RV Technician / Mechanic has daily contact with managers, co-workers, and sales personnel regarding the service of units, repairs, and maintenance required. When our customers purchase a unit, this position educates the customer on the basic working functions of the product.

Essential Functions - we'll train you!
  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair recreational vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Educate customers on basic upkeep and use of newly purchased recreational vehicles.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements

Some knowledge of:

  • Methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs.
  • Safety practices and procedures.

Ability to learn:

  • Paint and body work.
  • Mechanical design and fabrication.
  • Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.

Some experience with:

  • Use of power and hand tools.
  • Use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Ability to:

  • Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effectively handle lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Work extended hours outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Education:

Willingness to learn recreational vehicle/construction equipment repair and maintenance, or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
