Atrium Health is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver treatments under supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. The role involves reviewing images, verifying setups, and performing daily QA on therapy equipment.

You will enter treatment parameters into EMR, manage schedules, and assist with CT simulation and immobilization. The position requires an advanced radiation therapy program and ARRT certification within a year.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy or related field.
• Formal certification requirements for practice in radiation therapy (ARRT) within 1 year.
• Ability to learn and apply complex radiation therapy principles and adapt to various instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist.
• Reviews images and port films for patient set ups, selection of treatment devices and verification.
• Performs daily QA on equipment prior to treatment and reports irregularities.
• Enters and maintains patient treatment parameters in electronic medical records.
• Maintains patient appointment schedule and ensures proper charge capture for treatments.
• Performs CT simulation in preparation for treatment; cuts blocks and computes monitor units when needed.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with proper body mechanics.
• Provides age-appropriate care per department policies and growth/development considerations.
