Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System seeks a Radiation Therapist I to join the Radiation Oncology unit in Pembroke Pines, FL. You will apply ionizing radiation per physician instruction, educate patients, and ensure accurate treatment setups and documentation.

The role involves imaging, QA, and collaboration with the care team to maintain ALARA standards and high-quality patient care. Graduate of an accredited program with ARRT certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program with an Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Sciences with Radiation Therapy Certification.
• ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiation Therapy and/or ARRT Board-eligible.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders and treatment plan; educates patient on procedures.
• Assists patient and family with concerns and refers to appropriate resources.
• Prepares room and equipment for each treatment and performs imaging as ordered.
• Positions patient and ensures accuracy of setup per treatment plan; conducts QA where required.
• Documents treatment records in ARIA and assists in chart checks and billing reconciliation.
• Collaborates with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists in simulation and clinical setup.
