Job summary

Prime Shrimp in New Orleans, a division of Laitram Machinery, Inc., is seeking an Entry Level Quality Assurance Technician to help maintain quality, safety, and aesthetics of shrimp products.

You will monitor critical control points, verify GMP and SQF standards, record data, and assist in sanitation and daily inspections. The role requires a high school diploma, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in food processing or manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, positive attitude and ability work in a team environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work as scheduled, including overtime and weekends as required.
• Follow the Department’s attendance policy and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify critical control points.
• Monitor product food safety and quality parameters throughout the manufacturing process.
• Perform sanitation verification on equipment and other required areas.
• Record and file all relevant records, logs and documentation.
• Record production metrics and inform relevant leads on deficiencies.
• Ensure the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
• Ensure employees are following all food safety and worker safety practices.
• Collect product samples.
• Perform inspections on products, equipment and machinery.
