Job summary

EDGE Staffing Limited is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Robotics & Product Testing) for an onsite contract in the Greater Boston area. You will join a cross-functional software quality team to perform manual testing, develop test cases, document defects, and support defect resolution across consumer robotics-enabled products.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering to improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/CS).
• 0–2 years of experience in a quality assurance or testing role.
• Understanding of manual software testing practices and familiarity with test automation concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and challenging assumptions constructively.
• Working knowledge of digital multimeters, tachometers, and general laboratory equipment.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Test a variety of products and execute system testing according to defined procedures.
• Assist in developing test protocols and test cases based on product requirements and new features.
• Document test results, classify issues, and capture supporting photos where appropriate.
• Communicate testing progress, blockers, and discovered defects to the manual testing team.
• Collaborate with engineering and software quality teams to troubleshoot issues and support defect resolution.
• Participate in design reviews, project sprints, and daily standups.
• Support requirements tracing, root cause analysis, fault tree analysis, and defect management activities.
• Help troubleshoot test units and returned products.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and team workflows.
• Work cross-functionally to develop an understanding of the complete product system.
