Job summary

North Carolina Association of Official Court Reporters in North Carolina seeks an Assistant District Attorney (NS) to prosecute misdemeanor criminal cases including Domestic Violence, DWI, and Traffic. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and an active license to practice law in North Carolina.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state/constitutional law and evidentiary rules.
• Experience in prosecutorial duties is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal cases in district and superior courts.
• Screen cases and assess strengths/weaknesses of the facts.
• Research case law and prepare trials; draft motions and briefs.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses; negotiate plea agreements.
