Job summary

The El Paso Central Appraisal District (EPCAD) is seeking an Appraiser II, an entry-level position performing real and personal property appraisal under supervision, interacting with the public to interpret market values for El Paso County. The role involves field inspections, data entry, hearings, and maintaining records.

A valid Texas driver’s license and personal auto insurance are required; adherence to policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent supplemented by 2 years of college, or 2 years in related field.
• Upon hire, completion of courses as mandated by the State Comptroller’s Office and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience at the discretion of the Executive Director/Chief Appraiser.

Responsibilities

• Performs appraisal of commercial, residential, land and personal property of average difficulty.
• Conducts field work to physically inspect property to determine value, depreciation and replacement costs.
• Represents EPCAD in hearings to defend values and process settlements with taxpayers/agents.
