Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. The role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and project performance to help projects stay on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate will handle progress data, develop cost forecasts, and assist with basic variance and risk analyses while working under direct supervision. This hybrid U.S. position may involve travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Supports compliance with internal procedures such as federal/government regulations.
• Gathers project progress information from project manager and project team members to update and monitor the project of basic complexity.
• Develops time‑phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as required.
• Monitors progress of project deliverables.
• Performs performance reporting using Earned Value Management.
• Documents and assesses the impact of project changes on cost/schedule baselines.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and federal regulations.
• Updates data on schedule dates, percent complete, resource requirements, and costs.
• Develops and analyzes integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates earned value reports and communicates observations with the project manager.
• Uses proper document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
