Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc seeks a production teammate to support the Demopolis SBS paperboard mill's 24/7 operations. You will work with operations, maintenance, and support teams to keep safety, quality, and reliability at the forefront of daily production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to rotate shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and proven problem‑solving and teamwork in tough environments. Drug screening is part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and twist.
• Ability to work in environments with varying and extreme temperatures.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment to support safe, reliable production.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and support teams to meet quality standards.
• Follow safety practices and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
• Monitor equipment and processes, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement.
• Develop skills through cross-training on multiple assignments and seniority.
• Contribute to equipment reliability, housekeeping, and protecting mill assets.
• Participate in safety meetings and improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively and support team colleagues to reach production goals.
