Job summary

Riverside County Probation Department is seeking Probation Corrections Officer I to supervise youths in detention or treatment settings and support daily operations within the unit. The role requires the ability to maintain order, document behavior, and guide youths through structured activities.

The entry-level position offers training opportunities, including core Probation training, First Aid, and CPR. Ongoing professional development and potential promotion to Officer II are available upon

Qualifications

Experience supervising youths in detention or treatment settings.
Aptitude for supervising group activities and maintaining order.
Completion of or readiness for Probation Corrections Officer core trainings, First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

Supervise the conduct and behavior of youths within a detention or treatment setting.
Document daily behavior and progress, and assist youth in adjusting to detention.
Instruct and encourage proper conduct, plan recreation, and maintain safety and security within the unit.
Attend required trainings on powers of arrest, search/seizure, and defensive tactics; participate in restraints if necessary.
Record observations, maintain logs, and support routines including shifts and handover.
Occasionally perform other duties as required and adapt to rotating assignments.
