Job summary

Roper Pump Company in Georgia is seeking a full-time assembler to position parts per blueprints or knowledge of the unit, perform visual inspections, and assemble using various fasteners. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Hours are typically Monday through Friday with potential overtime. A high school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months of related experience, is preferred to support ongoing training and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
  • Able to read simple blueprints or instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and operate basic assembly tools.

Responsibilities

  • Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints.
  • Perform visual inspection of parts prior to assembly.
  • Identify any quality issues and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Identify and resolve assembly related problems.
  • Select and maintain the necessary tools required for assembly.
  • Remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
  • Operate drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation.
