Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed concrete. You will check forms and reinforcement before pours, verify strand records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects.

Certification sponsorship is provided for PCI Level I and ACI Grade I, with travel and per diem as needed. Candidates must be able to work early shifts and travel between plants as required.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with 1+ years in precast/prestressed plants.
• Able to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Reliable with plant hours and an early production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record them against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
