Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed elements. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and embeds before pours, verify strand tensioning and load records, and run fresh concrete tests to ensure compliance with shop drawings.

You must hold PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I or be earning it, plus ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification required or in first months of earning it.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience acceptable to start.
• Reads shop drawings and performs tensioning calculations accurately.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31; strip and release strength tests.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
