Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and blockouts, verify strand records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and ensure finished pieces meet dimensions and defect checks before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification with plant experience, strong attention to numbers, and the ability to work with early production

Qualifications

• PCI Level I or ACI Grade I with plant experience required
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations
• Comfortable with plant hours and early production schedule
• Honest and precise with the numbers

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight)
• Cast cylinders per ASTM C31 and perform strength tests
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair
