IIA Fire Department Testing

IIA Fire Department Testing, a leading company in the fire safety industry, is seeking full-time Fire Equipment Technicians to join our team in North Carolina. We provide essential services testing fire equipment for fire departments at their locations.

This is an entry-level position with no prior experience required. All training will be provided on-site. The starting hourly rate is $15.50/hour. Meals and lodging are covered by the company when traveling out of state. The team convenes in Elizabeth City, NC.

Responsibilities
  1. Test and inspect fire hoses by:
  • Removing all hoses from fire apparatus and racks
  • Performing required recordings and tests
  • Repacking hoses to the proper place
Qualifications
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check
  • Hardworking and dependable
Working Conditions
  • Work is Monday-Friday: leave Monday morning and return Friday evening, with most work being out of state.
  • Meet at a central location on Monday morning and travel in company vehicles. Return to the same location on Friday evening.
  • Meals and lodging are covered by the company when traveling out of state.
  • Typical workweek consists of 40-60 hours.
  • Occasional workdays may exceed 12 hours.
  • Work is not over until the job is completed.
  • Work boots are required; work shirts are supplied by the company.
  • Work may be performed in rain; appropriate rain gear is recommended.
  • Work is outdoors in weather conditions ranging from 35°F to over 100°F, often near water.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently walk and bend over
  • Work outdoors in various conditions (light rain, heat, cold, etc.)
