Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company seeks an entry‑level General Maintenance helper to assist with general tasks around the worksite. Under supervision, you will support preventative maintenance, learn basic functions, and help build a foundation for long‑term development within the company.

You will perform inspections, repair minor components, and help maintain safety standards on site, with emphasis on learning and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience in maintenance, preferably within heavy equipment and machines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑shift and post‑shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
• Perform structural repairs, hard facing, and replace heavy wear‑parts (crusher liners, shaker screens) using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
• Strictly adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations, execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and maintain a hazard‑free work area.
• Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas during operation and perform minor adjustments.
• Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records.
