Job summary

HTU in Portland, OR is seeking a hands-on pipe fabrication assistant to set up and operate shop equipment for fabricating and measuring pipe lengths. You will cut, bevel, thread, and groove pipe using Landis machines and help assemble orders while maintaining a safe, organized yard.

Qualifications

• Prior fabrication experience preferred but not required.
• Strong math skills to calculate product quantities.
• Experience operating machinery for cutting and threading pipe according to OSHA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe length.
• Cut and bevel pipe using Landis machines; thread and groove lengths.
• Move pipe within the pipe yard.
• Assemble pipe orders in sticks or bundles; keep supplies organized.
• Observe safety precautions during fabrication, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping.
• Operate powered industrial equipment following OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safety procedures.
