Job summary

Northwest Cancer Centers in Northwest Indiana seeks an entry-level Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and specimen processing in a clinical lab setting. The role supports patient flow, ensures proper labeling, and adheres to quality assurance and safety policies under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification/licensure recommended.
  • Entry-level position requiring 0–3 years of experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent recommended.
  • Ability to follow quality assurance and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens as ordered.
  • Maintains proper documentation per QA program.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures viability of materials.
  • Sends specimens to reference laboratories as needed.
  • Updates daily paperwork, lab logs and maintenance logs.
  • Maintains patient identification and proper labeling.
  • Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.
  • Performs waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines.
