Job summary

Z1 Motorsports Inc in Carrollton, GA seeks an Entry-Level Performance Technician to perform basic automotive performance installations and support R&D through test-fitting and validation. You will join a hands-on shop focused on aftermarket parts and safety.

The role requires foundational mechanical skills, clear communication, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure components meet quality standards and fitment requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and provide objective, clear feedback to product developers and engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to report fitment concerns, part clearances, or hardware defects immediately.
• High standard for shop cleanliness, tool organization, and safe work procedures.
• Hands-on experience performing basic automotive repair or aftermarket installations (intakes, exhausts, brakes, or suspension service).

Responsibilities

• Execute basic performance component installations, including aftermarket intake systems, cat-back and axle-back exhausts, and standard brake service/upgrades.
• Collaborate directly with the engineering and R&D team to test-fit prototype and pre-production aftermarket parts.
• Verbally communicate and document any fitment issues, hardware discrepancies, or installation clearances encountered during test-fitting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and shop equipment are properly cared for and returned after use.
• Conduct pre- and post-installation visual checks to ensure all work meets quality standards and safety guidelines.

The Entry-Level Performance Technician is responsible for performing basic automotive performance installations and supporting research and development (R&D) efforts through part test-fitting and validation. This role requires foundational mechanical skills, clear communication, and high attention to detail to ensure test components meet quality standards while maintaining an organized, productive shop space.

This is a Full Time Hourly position at Z1 Headquarters.
