Job summary

Cortica is seeking part-time Behavior Technicians to join our team in Irvine, CA. You'll help children with autism build play, social, and daily life skills using ABA techniques, while gaining hands-on experience in psychology and healthcare.

We train all experience levels, cover certification costs, and offer flexible shifts after you join. The shifts include M-F 3:30-6:30 PM or 4-7 PM, with opportunities to add more availability after starting and a minimum 6-month commitment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to attend two weeks of training (3:30–7 PM) during the onboarding period.
  • Commitment to the selected shift for a minimum of 6+ months.
  • Reliable transportation: travel up to 30–40 minutes between sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and group ABA services to children in clients’ homes or in-clinic.
  • Document session data to track and support treatment goals.
  • Collaborate closely with families and supervisors to build supportive environments.
  • Follow Cortica’s crisis protocols, including de-escalation and mandated reporting.

Job description

Cortica is seeking part-time Behavior Technicians to join our team in Irvine.

We are a team of doctors and therapists, specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders. As a BT at Cortica, you'll help children with autism build play, social, and daily life skills using ABA techniques, while gaining hands‑on experience in psychology, education, and healthcare. All experience levels are welcome to apply. We’ll train you and cover all certification costs.

At its core, ABA is based on the idea that behavior can be studied and improved. By identifying what motivates behavior, we can teach new skills, encourage helpful behaviors, and reduce maladaptive behaviors.

Choose from the following shifts:
  • Monday through Friday – 3:30‑6:30 PM or 4‑7 PM.
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday – 3:30‑6:30 PM or 4‑7 PM.
  • You can add more availability after starting.
  • Must be able to commit to the shift you choose for a minimum of 6 months.
What you'll do:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children (autism experience is a plus).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to attend the first two weeks of training: Monday through Friday between 3:30‑7 PM.
  • Commitment to the shift selected for a minimum of 6+ months.
  • Reliable transportation: Able to travel up to 30‑40 minutes between sessions.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $21.18 to $28.42 per hour, based on experience and education.
