Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit, offers an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Panel Assembler (Level A) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, California. Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest‑efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state‑of‑the‑art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station.

Position Responsibilities
  • Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
  • Performs such processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including wiring processes, soldering, welding, adhesive mixing and applications, component bonding, and abrading of substrates.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift and Work Hours

This position is for various shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). Candidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

Export Control Compliance

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. A U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
  • Ability to use steady hand‑eye coordination to work with small parts.
  • Capable of lifting 20 lbs or more on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics.
  • Experience in J-STD-001 soldering.
  • Experience soldering and terminating wiring.
  • Experience with chemical processes.
Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., high school diploma/GED).

Relocation

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.
