Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks an ophthalmic assistant to support eye care providers in examinations and treatments at the Franklin Medical Offices in Denver. You will prepare rooms, manage supplies, and assist with procedures under supervision while focusing on patient needs and safety.

Responsibilities include vision screening, charting ocular history, scribing, and maintaining infection control. This is a full-time, on-site role with a union context and competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months of satisfactory full time experience as an assistant in an eye care setting OR completion of a JCAHPO approved course for Ophthalmic Assistants.
• Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in eye examinations and treatments under direct supervision.
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms, stocks supplies, and maintains cleanliness.
• Performs vision screening tests and records data for provider interpretation.
• Scribes findings and assists during minor surgical and laser procedures with sterile technique.
• Cleans, sterilizes instruments, and handles clerical tasks as directed.

Education

High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required.
