Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join the Molecular Oncology team. The role runs Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with responsibilities including specimen handling, test analyses, and releasing results under CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA guidelines.

BS in Medical Technology or related field preferred; 1 year of clinical high-complexity molecular oncology experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or an Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) in Molecular Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and records of patient results.
• Maintain proficiency testing records and ensure tests are performed consistently.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and review results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety guidelines and notify supervisor of issues.
