Job summary

SGS is seeking a Jr. Preparation Technician to properly prepare mineral samples for analysis following all procedures and standards.

You will label, transfer, and file samples, perform routine equipment maintenance, and ensure accurate data recording while maintaining a safe work environment. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma; no experience required, with preferred 1+ year in industrial or lab settings and a driver’s license in some cases.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• No experience required.
• 1+ year in industrial/lab/field setting preferred.
• Must follow strict safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mineral samples (coal, iron ore, limestone, etc.) per standards.
• Label and transfer samples with dates and paperwork.
• File and locate samples.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on prep equipment.
• Accurately record data related to sample preparation.
• Keep equipment and containers organized and clean.
• Wear PPE as required.
