Qualifications

• Formal medical assistant training and knowledge of clinic practices.
• Certificate required: Medical Assistant Certification; phlebotomy included in program.
• Computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet patients professionally.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality.
• Prepare patients for providers; document histories and vital signs; assist during exams.
• Draw and collect blood samples.
• Perform basic lab tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Follow up with patients re testing and appointments; perform safety checks and equipment testing.
• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and stocked supplies.
• Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment.
• Perform infection control activities as required.
• Cross-train with administrative staff to support patient flow.
• Perform JCAHO and OSHA duties as assigned.
