Job summary

LPU Batangas in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform calculations and develop layouts for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems, using Revit or AutoCAD with junior staff support.

You will review drawings, draft specifications, conduct field measurements, and coordinate with other disciplines while applying heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics fundamentals. Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; EIT preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling software (Revit/AutoCAD).
• Strong technical and analytical skills in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and design layouts for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection with assistance.
• Create engineering documents using CAD technology (Revit and AutoCAD) or manually with junior staff support.
• Edit or draft project specifications with assistance.
• Conduct field measurements and checks at construction sites.
• Review drawings for omissions, errors, quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards and codes.
• Review product submittals for design content and specify actions to meet specifications.
• Maintain organized project files including calculations, correspondence, and reference materials.
• Select and source equipment with assistance.
• Coordinate projects with other disciplines.
• Communicate scope changes to the department manager and Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
